Hannah Shaha signs her letter of intent with Southern Utah University

In 2023 we featured Dr. Jimmy Shaha’s daughter, Hannah here on our blog after she led the Chugiak High girls cross-country team to a state title!  In 2024 Hannah was named Alaska's Gatorade Girls Cross Country Athlete of the Year, after leading the Chugiak High girls cross-country team to a third straight title!

Today we are thrilled to feature Hannah AGAIN, this time as she signs her letter of intent to compete at the Division I college level at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. 

After being named Gatorade Athlete of the Year Hannah was quoted in the Anchorage Daily News saying  “It just goes to show how much my coaches, parents and teachers have pushed me to take as many opportunities as I can and be the best all-around person I can be.”  The motto of the Mustangs’ coaching staff is “We want to make you good people and not just good athletes” and Shaha believes that her receiving this honor is a personification of what it truly means.”

Congratulations Hannah on your achievement in earning a scholarship, everyone at Pioneer Peak including patients and friends we  are proud of you, your family, coaches and fellow teammates.
