When the physical therapist becomes the patient.
After injuring his knee playing indoor soccer, Joe Muchmore, DPT, COMT — Physical Therapy Manager at Pioneer Peak Orthopedics through our collaboration with Advanced Physical Therapy of Alaska–Wasilla — was diagnosed with an ACL tear.
Joe experienced the entire process firsthand: preoperative physical therapy, ACL reconstruction with Dr. Michael Montano and Danielle McKinney, PA-C, followed by a structured postoperative rehabilitation program.
Today, Joe reports that his walking and stair use are close to normal, he is sleeping well, and he continues to make progress toward returning to the activities he enjoys.
Going through ACL reconstruction and rehabilitation himself has also given Joe a unique perspective on what his patients experience during recovery.
We’re proud of Joe’s progress and of the collaboration between Pioneer Peak Orthopedics and Advanced Physical Therapy of Alaska–Wasilla that helps our patients through each stage of their recovery.
Every injury and recovery is different, and at Pioneer Peak Orthopedics treatment plans are individualized for each patient!
